Privacy Policy

Last updated May 1, 2026

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We've tried to keep it short and readable.

What we collect

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and a hashed password. If you create a fundraiser, we collect the campaign details you submit, including title, story, photos, and location.

When you donate, we collect your name, email, donation amount, and payment details. Payment details are handled directly by our payment processor — we never store your full card number.

We also automatically collect basic usage data: pages you visit, the device and browser you use, and approximate location based on IP address. This helps us improve the platform and detect suspicious activity.

How we use it

We use your information to operate the platform, process donations, communicate with you about your account or campaigns, prevent fraud, and improve our service. We don't sell your personal data to third parties.

Who we share with

We share information with service providers who help us run the platform, such as our payment processor, email delivery service, and analytics provider. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and use it only for the services we've requested.

We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the safety of our users.

Your choices

You can update or delete your account at any time from your account settings. You can opt out of marketing emails using the link at the bottom of any email we send.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — to access, correct, or delete your data, or to object to certain types of processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

Data retention

We keep your account information for as long as your account is active. Donation and fundraiser records may be retained longer to meet legal and tax obligations.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit and at rest. No system is perfectly secure, but we work continuously to strengthen our defenses.

Children

Crowdifund is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform evolves. If we make material changes, we'll notify you by email or through the platform.
